Looking For A School ?        School Locations

What to look for and What to ask

If you are looking for a Place to train

Look at the Trophy's if you are looking for a Tournament School and you want to compete. Are they all from the same style or tournament if so this school may not be able to compete out of its small environment. Dose it have medals, display's and trophy's each tournament gives out different awards that is another way to tell.

Is the school big if so they might have a big overhead and are more interested in money then training you. Small schools don't need to pack them in and you have more of a personal training environment.

Free classes are just to feed your ego, they teach you something simple and tell you your son or daughter is the next Bruce Lee or Chuck Norris and they have to have you in the school.

There is an old saying: if the school has to tell you how great they are that is the only place you'll hear it from. The great schools you hear about from other people or the bad schools will tell you not to go there.

Ask! What are the extra Cost. Uniforms, Testing and equipment are extra even if you get a uniform free you still are giving something up.

Do they warm up and stretch if so they are a sport or competing type style. In self defense you don't have time to warm up, when attacked. If its a sport then make sure they go to at least one tournament a Month.

When are the payments and do you have to sign a long term contract if so, you can bet after you sign that contract they won't care about training you, they already have your money.

I hope this helps you.
